California lifts school mask mandate

Today, the Newsom Administration announced the state’s requirement for masking in schools will expire on Friday, March 11, allowing students, regardless of vaccination status, to be without a face mask at school beginning Monday, March 14.

San Francisco’s Department of Public Health announced that it will align with the state guidelines and will not require children to wear masks in school beginning March 14. Marin and San Mateo Counties also lifted the school mask mandate.

The Archdiocese of San Francisco Department of Catholic Schools made masks optional effective March 12.
