Launch of the St. Junipero Serra Route
of the
National Eucharistic Pilgrimage
On Sunday, more than 2,600 people joined San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption in San Francisco for Pentecost Mass with beautiful new music by Benedict XVI’s Composer-in-Residence, Frank LaRocca, entitled Pange Lingua: A Mass for Eucharistic Renaissance. After Mass, men and women religious joined Archbishop Cordileone and the Perpetual Pilgrims in a short procession to St. Dominic’s Catholic Church before walking across the Golden Gate Bridge. Between 3,000 – 5,000 people walked across the bridge in the Eucharistic procession on Sunday afternoon, finishing at H. Dana Bowers Rest Area with a rosary and Benediction.
