Care for Creation’ Pilgrimage and Mass

You are invited to participate in a special Franciscan Jubilee Year event: A ‘Care for Creation’ Pilgrimage and Mass on Saturday May 9th at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi.   The gathering for this special occasion starts in Washington Park across from Saints Peter & Paul Church (666 Filbert Street, San Francisco) at 10:00 am with a special opening blessing and  ‘Care for Creation’ nature prayer reflections in the park.  We will then have a short pilgrimage procession (.3 miles) to the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi at 610 Vallejo Street where we will all have the opportunity to listen to a talk about St. Francis and the Laudato Si’ Movement by Father Bobby Barbato, OFM Cap at 11:15 am. Lastly, we will celebrate a Care for Creation Mass at 12:15 pm with Fr. Barbato as the main celebrant. A light reception to follow hosted by the Knights of St. Francis.
