Mother’s Day Donation Appeal & Lunch Celebration

May 6 @ 1:00 pm

Mother’s Day Donation Appeal & Lunch Celebration

We are honored to host a special Mother’s Day celebration for mothers impacted by domestic violence, child welfare involvement (CPS), poverty and incarceration.

Wednesday, May 6, 2026
St. Mary’s Cathedral – Event Center
1111 Gough Street, San Francisco, CA 94015

This celebration centers women navigating active domestic violence cases, living in shelters, or experiencing economic hardship. Many are single mothers, some are pregnant, and many are also affected by incarceration, with children’s fathers currently in jail due to domestic violence–related offenses.

A Special Note of Care
The Mother’s Day cards being given to women incarcerated in the county jails and to mothers attending this domestic violence celebration have been lovingly hand‑crafted by elementary and high school students. These cards carry messages of gratitude, encouragement, and compassion—youth extending hope to mothers who are often unseen.

What the Day Includes

  • A dignified Mother’s Day celebration and gift for mothers
  • Lunch provided for single moms
  • Toys and gifts for their children
  • A safe, welcoming space that honors resilience, healing, and hope

Donation Need All items for this event—including meals, toys, Mother’s Day gifts, and handmade cards—have already been purchased or prepared to ensure that no mother or child goes without. We are now seeking financial donations to help cover the costs of these essential items and make this celebration possible.

  • Mothers rebuilding their lives after domestic violence
  • Children impacted by trauma and family separation
  • Families navigating the intersection of poverty, violence, and incarceration

Every gift—no matter the size—helps restore dignity and reminds these families that they are remembered, valued, and supported.
