Walk for Peace and Memorial Mass
Invitation to Volunteer
Walk for Peace & Memorial Mass
During Victims’ Rights Week, we invite volunteers to take part in a deeply meaningful act of remembrance and solidarity.
As part of the Walk for Peace & Memorial Mass, volunteers will carry a small wooden cross and walk in procession around the church grounds (approximately one block) before entering the church for the Memorial Mass. Each cross represents a person who died by homicide in the Bay Area in 2025.
This procession is a visible, prayerful expression of remembrance—honoring lives lost, accompanying grieving families, and calling our community to peace.
We are seeking 50 volunteers to serve as cross bearers for this sacred procession.
Volunteer Role:
- Carry one wooden cross during the procession
- Walk prayerfully and respectfully with the community
- Enter the church together for the Memorial Mass
No special experience is required. Volunteers of all backgrounds are welcome; what matters most is a willingness to walk with reverence, compassion, and presence.
By volunteering, you help transform remembrance into a collective act of dignity, healing, and hope.
