Visit Incarcerated Youth – One Youth at a Time

Join our Bible scripture sharing and Book Club program at the San Francisco Juvenile Justice Center.

Invest in a better future and create a lasting impact. Build faith and reading skills in our youth.

Requirements:

  • Screening interview
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • One-day in-person training orientation (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Complete City and County of San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department background application, live scan and required online training
  • Volunteers must visit youth twice a month, every other week on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings
  • Attend monthly in-person meetings, yearly spiritual empowerment retreats and Restorative Justice trainings and conferences
  • Be a practicing Catholic
  • Bilingual English/Spanish volunteers are preferable but not required

Training sessions are scheduled for July 1 and August 5.
