Project Rachel is a confidential outreach ministry sponsored by the Archdiocese of San Francisco that helps individuals—both women and men—find hope and healing after abortion, offering a compassionate, faith‑filled bridge back to peace—through retreats, pastoral care, and a confidential, judgment‑free space to heal.

Women’s Retreat for Healing after Abortion

If you or someone you know is suffering after an abortion, know that you are not alone. The Archdiocese of San Francisco Office of Human Life & Dignity invites you to a special Women’s Retreat for Healing after Abortion, a time for spiritual renewal, peace, and confidential healing in God’s mercy.

Upcoming 2026 retreats are:

Spanish is Nov. 13-15, led by Father Armando Gutierrez with Father Elias Guadalupe Ford, OP.

English is Dec. 4-6, led by Father Gabriel Wankar, with Father Elias Guadalupe Ford, OP

Each weekend retreat includes:

• Holy Mass

• The Sacrament of Reconciliation

• Spiritual direction and counseling

• A safe, confidential, and supportive environment.

• Retreats: Private, supportive healing weekends featuring Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, guided counseling, and group sharing in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

• Ongoing support: Emotional, spiritual, and pastoral care through one-on-one contact with their trained Project Rachel coordinator.

• Resources and referrals: Connections with retreats like Rachel’s Vineyard and campaigns like the Silent No More Awareness Campaign for additional care.

Confidential and Inclusive

• All outreach is strictly confidential—you choose what to share, and privacy is always respected .

• Open to both women and men who are experiencing grief, guilt, or emotional pain related to abortion
