Christmas Angels Program
Mission
To bring hope, dignity, and joy to children and families impacted by incarceration and violence through acts of generosity, community engagement, and compassionate service during the holiday season.
Purpose
The Christmas Angels program provides holiday support to families affected by incarceration or violence by offering children the opportunity to choose their own gifts at a festive event, while also providing each family with a gift card to help meet seasonal needs.
Objectives
- Create a welcoming and joyful holiday experience for children and families.
- Distribute toys and gift cards to families impacted by incarceration or violence.
- Engage volunteers and donors in meaningful acts of service and generosity.
- Foster community connection and healing through shared celebration.
About the Event
The program culminates with a Family Christmas Event. At this festive event, the gifts will be distributed, food and drinks will be served, and children will have the opportunity to get their photo taken with Santa and their family.
For Participating Families
The registration period will open November 15 through December 15, 2025.
Participating families must be present at the Christmas party in order to receive the gifts. The party will be held on Sunday, December 21 from 12:00 – 4:00 pm.
Host a Christmas Angels Toy Drive
We’re excited to invite Catholic schools and parishes across the Archdiocese of San Francisco to participate in our annual Christmas Angels Toy Drive, now in partnership with Joey’s Toy Drive! Together, we’re supporting children and families impacted by incarceration and violence—bringing hope, joy, and the true spirit of Christmas.
How Schools or Parishes Can Help
Place toy collection boxes on campus where students can drop off new, unwrapped toys.
– Box Drop-off: November 10–21
– Box Pick-up: December 15–19
– Box Size: Approximately 20″L x 20″W x 40″H
Event Details
All donated toys will be distributed at the Christmas Angels Celebration on:

Why It Matters
This is a powerful opportunity for students to live out their faith through action—learning the values of compassion, generosity, and service. Teachers can use this initiative to spark classroom conversations about justice, empathy, and the true spirit of Christmas. By donating toys, students help create a joyful experience where children can choose their own gifts at the event. Each family also receives a gift card to support their holiday needs.
Toy Guidelines
Due to the nature of the children and families we serve, we kindly ask that donated toys do not include items that reflect violence, such as toy guns or weapons. Our goal is to foster a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment for all.
