Msgr. Floro Basio Arcamo

August 18, 1940 – January 24, 2022

Born in Bohol, Philippines to Florentino and Marcelina Basio Arcamo, he was the second child of ten children.  He was ordained on June 12, 1965 by Bishop Manuel Mascarinas.  His first assignment was as a Professor of Latin and Music, Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary, Tagbilaran City, Philippines.  In the Philippines he served as Assistant Parish Priest, then Parish Priest and finally as Director of Parochial High School. 

He came to the U.S. on September 10, 1976.  He served as Associate Pastor of St. Philip’s, St. Brigid’s, St. Augustine’s, and Our Lady of Mercy; he served as Pastor at St. Augustine’s, St. Mark’s, and Star of the Sea.  He retired on July 1, 2010 and was in residence at St. Cecilia’s.

During his dedicated years of ministry in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, he was named Prelate of Honor by Pope John Paul II in 2000.  He was an appointed Chaplain/Moderator of San Francisco County Council of Catholic Women; Episcopal Vicar for Filipinos; member of Priests’ Personnel Board and member of the Council of Priests.

Msgr. Arcamo is survived by his loving siblings and their families: Norma Arcamo Camoes (+Dr.  Manuel Camoes ) Children: Norman Arcamo (Anne-Marie) and Marie Noelle (Adam Klaskow); Eden Arcamo Bonin (Henry) Son:  Edward “Eddie”; Dario Arcamo (Gail) Children: Dean Arcamo and Joy (Gabe Regalado); Junne Arcamo (Rina) Sons: Dirk Jonas (Imee) Dean Jason (Judith “Joy”) and Debb Juter (Kim); Joy Arcamo Garee (Dale Garee) Children:  Jade Dexter (Sean Dexter) and Ward Garee; Roy Arcamo (Rina)  Sons:  Roy Jr. “RZ” and Ryan Arcamo. His deceased siblings are Marian Esther Arcamo and Dennis Arcamo (Venus)  Children:  Jhay-r, Marian and Mark Florence.

Family and Friends may visit Tuesday, February 15, after 3:00pm and are invited to attend the Rosary Tuesday, February 15 at 4:00pm , the Vigil Concelebrated Mass Tuesday 5:00pm and the Funeral Mass Wednesday, February 16, 9:00am ALL AT St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 17 Avenue and Vicente Street, S.F.  At his request, Committal Service will be Private.
