On January 13, St. Anthony Foundation announced the appointment of Lillian B. Archer as Chief Advancement Officer, an expanded executive leadership role designed to strengthen alignment across the organization’s development, communications, and community engagement functions as it builds on the momentum of its 75th anniversary year.
In this position, Archer leads St. Anthony’s resource development, public and community affairs, and marketing and communications functions, providing strategic leadership focused on aligning people, priorities, and resources to advance the Foundation’s mission and expand its impact for guests in San Francisco’s Tenderloin.
“We are grateful for Lillian’s leadership and thrilled to welcome her into this role,” said St. Anthony Foundation CEO Larry Kwan. “She brings a steady presence and a deep commitment to our mission. Her leadership and strategic insight will help ensure our work continues to be guided by compassion, dignity, and community.”
Archer brings more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience and a strong track record of partnering with social change leaders and philanthropists to mobilize more than $100 million in support of mission-driven organizations across education, humanitarian aid, direct service, and the arts. She joined St. Anthony’s in January 2025 during the Foundation’s 75th anniversary year as Interim Chief Development Officer, where she helped align fundraising strategy with organizational priorities and growth.
“St. Anthony’s is a place where people show up for one another with genuine care and a strong sense of community,” she said. “I’m honored to work alongside dedicated staff, volunteers, and board members, and to partner closely with our CEO Dr. Larry Kwan and the executive team. Together, we’re focused on strengthening the relationships and resources that allow this organization to meet people where they are and support them on their path forward.”
Originally from New York City, Lillian has called San Francisco her home since 2009 where she has worked extensively in the Bay Area’s nonprofit and philanthropic community.
