St. Alphonsus Liguori, patron saint of vocations, I come before you seeking your intercession for our people in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Open their hearts and minds to know the vocation God has planned for them for all eternity. If they are being invited to follow God as a priest, deacon, or consecrated person, give them a generous heart to respond to God’s challenging call and the strength to follow wherever God leads them. May families desire to please God by encouraging and supporting vocations within their homes. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd. Amen.
Hail Mary (say three times):
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary,
Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

“National Vocation Awareness Week will be celebrated in our country November 1 - 7, 2020. Please ask Our Lord for more dedicated, holy priests, deacons, and consecrated men and women. May they be inspired by Jesus Christ, supported by our faith community, and respond generously to God’s gift of a vocation." (from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops).
In our contemporary times, it is a “mini-miracle” that anyone is able to hear and respond to a religious vocation. It is a miracle that can only be explained by the power of prayer and the efficaciousness of God’s grace. Our prayer for vocations is ultimately a response to Christ’s personal call for us to “ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Mt 9:38).
In observance of this week, the Office of Vocations of the Archdiocese of San Francisco is sponsoring and promoting a prayer campaign that involves praying a short prayer each day so that the Catholic faithful in the Archdiocese may be open to a religious vocation.
