Honoring married couples in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone celebrated the Wedding Anniversary Mass on Feb. 4 at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption.

Spouses celebrating wedding anniversaries spanning 5 to 63 years attended, renewing their wedding vows and having their wedding rings blessed by the Archbishop.

In his homily, Archbishop Cordileone thanked those present for their commitment to and witness of their marriage.

“Thank you for living and persevering in the Sacrament of Matrimony,” said Archbishop Cordileone. “The world needs you to live this life-long communion of body, mind and spirit well, so that it may understand the life-giving love of God and that future generations may become capable of receiving and sharing His love. You persevere in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, present and united to each other in suffering, which expands your hearts to be able to share each other’s joys ever more profoundly.”
