Young Adult Beloved Dinner draws record crowd in San Francisco

By Catholic San Francisco
The Archdiocese of San Francisco hosted a memorable Young Adult Beloved Dinner with more than 220 young adults participating at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption. The evening commenced with a Mass celebrated by Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone, followed by a candlelit dinner in the Cathedral’s Events Center.
The dinner is an act of service on the part of the young adult men, who prepare, serve, and sponsor an evening formal. Volunteers filled in as cooks, kitchen staff, bartenders, table servers, DJ’s, emcees, and more. There was a photobooth and a live musical performance by Floriani, the missionary music ensemble.
Aimed at honoring and celebrating the dignity of women, the dinner included talks reinforcing the unique and valuable role women hold in the Church and the world. The event also sought to re-establish timeless social etiquette and entertainment. This year’s dinner marked the third annual gathering in the Bay Area and saw the largest attendance to date.
The Archdiocese expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who donated cash, wine, prizes, and tableware. Their contributions and prayers ensured a fun evening and provided young adults with an opportunity to gather for Mass and an evening out.
