Young Adult Ministry

Young Adult Ministry welcomes all adults ages 18-40, as they are met in the stages of life as college students, professional singles, married couples, or young families that are eager to grow in love with God whether searching, found, confused or questioning.

Our Goals

We are working to create a home by building peer communities in all of our parishes throughout the Archdiocese. To this end we have five goals that guide our work:

Provide a leadership formation program that recruits, forms, catechizes, energizes, and equips young adult leaders to form peer communities.

Create archdiocesan and parish environments where young adults are valued and invited.

Invite young adults into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Assist the diverse young adults of our archdiocese in discerning their mission in the world and integrating that mission into their work, family, and community life.

Maximize the potential of existing and emerging technologies to reach out to young adults and connect them to one another and the Church.

We are an authentic Catholic community all in our 20s to 40s. We enjoy prayer and adventure. Once a year the group goes overseas on pilgrimage. This past year we walked the Camino de Santiago. There are ongoing events such as a film series showing Vatican films every second Saturday of the month at 6:30 pm. Serving the only Latin Mass in the San Francisco Diocese, we are a diverse group.

Come join us at Holy Happy Hour! Tuesdays at 7 pm.

The Young Adult Catholics (YACs ) of St. Teresa was formed in the summer of 2018 to strengthen the community of young adult parishioners of Saint Teresa. YACs provides an inclusive platform for parishioners to share perspectives on Catholicism, ask difficult questions about their faith, support one another, and socialize outside of the church setting. YACs gets together on Sundays between 11:30am and 12:30pm in the Parish Hall. Come join us to meet people like you, who have questions about their faith, hope to learn more, and want to be part of a great community on Potrero Hill.

We are the Young Adults at St. Raymond (Menlo Park). We glorify God through fun social events and come to know God better through friendships rooted in Christ.  Some of us attend the Youth and Young Adult Mass on Sunday at 6pm and semi-regularly grab dinner afterwards. We also meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 7:30-9:00pm in the parish hall.

The St. Peter’s Young Adults Group is a new group that caters to the Spanish speaking community. We serve ages 18 – 40. We’ll be meeting every other Friday at 7pm at St. Peter’s in San Francisco. The meetings will consist of a prayer – catechesis – social to:
1) Help the young adults separate themselves from the world spiritually and find some peace and quiet in order to speak with God.
2) Learn more about the faith and why we believe what the church professes while defending the faith and applying it to our daily lives.
3) Help the young adults to form long lasting relationships with others in the group and having Jesus at the center of it all.
Please take note that as the this group is located in the mission district, the majority of the group and sessions will be mainly in Spanish. We will try our best to be as bilingual as possible. All young adults are Welcome!

This San Francisco group is for any single or married young adults between the ages of 18-39. This is a Catholic young adult ministry but we welcome all young adults regardless of their faith. Our mission is to provide a safe and comfortable environment where young adults can openly share, learn, and/or experience their faith and spirituality. We encourage young adults to explore their faith and develop their spirituality by catering to the needs of each individual through faith sharing, social justice events, fellowships, sisterhoods, brotherhoods, and youth/young adult masses.

St. Andrew’s Young Adult Ministry came into being a few years ago when many of our members grew out of the youth ministry at our parish and wanted to start a group that would help us continue growing together in faith. Although many of us have known each other for years, we also love welcoming new members and having people join our community. In general, we have faith sharing meetings on the first and third Sundays of each month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall in addition to one fellowship or community service event each month.

Examples of our past events include serving at the SF Food Bank, passing out sandwiches to those on the streets of San Francisco, singing karaoke together, and having a bonfire at Ocean Beach. Our faith sharing meetings focus on topics related to being a young adult and living out our faith in this world. At times we have guest speakers come in, including the pastors of our church.

We also sit together each Sunday at the 12:30 p.m. Mass and have young adults serve in the choir and as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Lectors.

Please join us if you want to form friendships built on faith or if you just want a great place to discuss relevant topics!

The Young Adults Group at Notre Dame des Victoires is active in parish life. In addition to gatherings twice a month to discuss Scripture and once a month for a social event, the young adults at church are involved in a variety of activities from volunteering in the community to spending time together in the spirit of friendship. Some young adults serve as Eucharistic Ministers at Mass while others spare time to decorate the Church for Christmas and Easter Seasons or to prepare dinner for special events in the parish hall. They give time to help the poor and go on retreats together to understand our shared faith better.

Although the Group meets regularly, it is informal in its character. We are always looking to see new faces and hear new ideas.  If you would like additional information about the Group, please contact the rectory.

Newman Catholic Club at SF state is a Catholic community where students can come together and grow in faith, ask questions, build friendships, and much more. We help balance school work, social life, and faith as we walk our own journey. Together with the Verbum Dei Community we plan on campus masses, social events, and scripture bites or talks. With the Verbum Dei we have been able to go to retreats and volunteer in our community. We share the desire that with these experiences we can build a world that can get us closer to Jesus in the Gospel.

We actively seek opportunities for spiritual growth through faith sharing, participation in the parish’s sacramental life and contributions to the greater Bay Area community. Together, we seek deeper understanding of our faith through community, spirituality, fellowship, and service. YA meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm.
