Pastoral Associate For Parish Life And Communication
Saint Robert Parish - San Bruno
The Pastoral Associate is a member of the parish team who shares responsibility for the pastoral care and the lifelong faith formation of the parishioners within the overall parish mission. In collaboration with the pastor and other staff members, he or she will provide assistance in the planning and implementation of ministries and sacramental actions within the daily activities of the parish.
This position requires the individual to be open to professional growth and development.
REPORTS TO: PASTOR
Responsibilities:
PARISH LIFE
Assist the Parish Pastoral Council in long-range planning, goal-setting, objectives and action steps related to the parish mission.
Foster the faith formation of parishioners, serving as a specialist/consultant in areas of catechesis and faith formation of children and adults.
Train and oversee volunteers for Liturgical Celebration eg. Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, Environment, Altar Ministry (Marthas), etc.
Collaborate with parish staff and volunteer leadership in the areas of Baptism/Eucharist/Confirmation/Marriage Preparation, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Seasonal Programs, and Scripture Studies.
Provide support to the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Team.
Share responsibility with the Pastor and staff in representing the parish at Archdiocesan and regional functions.
Provide leadership in areas of spiritual programming and pastoral care of parishioners.
Promote Stewardship Way of Life in the parish/ Work hand-in-hand with Stewardship Council.
Other duties assigned by the Pastor.
COMMUNICATION
Provide Liturgical aide, e.g. Mass script, for the Liturgical Celebrations
Publish, oversee and post relevant matters in the Parish Bulletin and Website
Publish parish life and action in Flocknotes, Parish Facebook page and other social communication
Takes care of parish and Archdiocesan Surveys
Oversee the Welcome Letters to New Parishioners and Consoling Letters to Bereaved Family and other communications to the parishioners
Reach out to inactive and seasonal parishioners through letters or phone.
Other duties assigned by the Pastor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church
Education, training, experience in theology, faith formation and liturgy Leadership skills
Strong verbal, written, and technology communication skills and knowledge on computer software and applications
Strong organizational, interpersonal and collaboration skills Compassionate presence
